When it came time to leave, Rebecca remembered where a pair of crutches were stashed away. They were exactly what I required to get to the car with a little dignity. In addition to the crutches, she gave me the best hug on Earth! I really needed it. Our drive was uneventful. Henri was leading the way and we followed.

Since we had over an hour to talk, we covered an assortment of topics. Geography is not my "thing" and I knew very little about Israel. He describe his country and told me that it is very beautiful there. What an interesting guy! He served in the Israeli military before coming to the United States. Now, he is hairdresser in Rockville, and a skydiver! Israel had recently earned his license. He took out his USPA card to show me.

I felt like crying. Israel sensed my sadness and quickly apologized. I told him that he shouldn't apologize. I was excited for him. What a great accomplishment! Until that moment, I hadn't thought about the ramifications of my injury with regarding to jumping. I thought about carpools and how I'd manage the kids. I thought about how Jim would react. Would he tell me to stop jumping?

Freefall went so well! It was the first jump where I got to do something fun! I loved making the turns! Now, it would be weeks before I could jump again.

Israel and Henri took me to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. They came inside and made sure I was going to be ok. I can not express how grateful I am for the kindness. Sometimes, it takes a tragedy for you to realize that there are kindhearted wonderful people in the world. On this day, I was surrounded by them. I appreciate everything these people did for me. From expressing their concern to driving me, they people took care of me and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Again. Thank you to all.
