The Royal Gorge bridge is 1,053 feet high and is known for being one of the highest bridges in the World. From 2003 to 2008, Go Fast organized the Go Fast Games at the bridge and invited an elite group of BASE jumpers to participate. In 2009, the games were cancelled and have not yet resumed.

When we arrived, we went to the visitors center. We didn't have much time, but we wanted to go out on the bridge. We figured we'd do a quick tour just like we did at Pearl Harbor - take some amazing photos and be on our way.

Once we were inside the visitors center, we realized that seeing the gorge wasn't free - it was $25.00. Seriously? We didn't have time to do anything other than take a few pictures. They wouldn't even allow us to go on the terrace without paying $25.00. Dislike!

Our trip was already over budget and spending an extra $50.00 to see the gorge seemed frivolous. Of course, the building was strategically blocking the view. Without paying, there really wasn't much to see.

Before we left, we walked up to the poor people lookout and took a few pictures.

When I got home from the trip, I found the website for Royal Gorge and it is very amazing. If we had more time, it would have been worth $25.00 each. If you are traveling to Colorado, plan to spend a day here!

By the time we left, it was after 10. Without traffic, we were 6 hours away from Casper - 400 miles. On the road again...
