Papa's Place SignAfter the message from Matt Link, we weren't sure what to do next. I sent him a reply to let him know that we were at Papa's Place having lunch and that we'd still probably run over to the DZ and check it out. We were only 1.4 miles away.

I'd been trading email messages with Chuck from Lincoln Sport Parachute Center. It was time to call - maybe we'd get lucky and they would be jumping today.

Chuck answered right away. They weren't jumping, but the pilot would be out early on Saturday(8 AM).

When I mentioned that we were driving, Chuck said we were welcome to stay at the drop zone if we wanted. It was such a nice offer, but with Matt's tummy trouble we'd be better off in a hotel. Either way, Chuck would be at the DZ by 7:00 if we wanted to show up early to fill out waivers.

Right after I hung up with him, I received another text from Matt Link, "I'll let you know what I find out in the next 30 minutes."

This worked out well for us because our food had just arrived. My turkey club sandwich was yummy and if you are ever in Luverne, Minnesota you should stop and have some lunch at Papa's Place. Even though Matt couldn't eat much, he said his chicken wrap was good.  I think maybe his stomach was shrinking.  He was still having problems. Not good!

My Matt looked on Google Maps to see how far we were from the Nebraska drop zone in Crete. If they were open, we could go ahead and get Nebraska and then start driving home. According to Google Maps, Skydive Crete is 260 miles away from Papa's Place. The drive would take about four hours. We could be there before 6 PM.

We finished our lunch and Matt went outside to call the Skydive Crete. While he was outside, I got a text from Matt Link, "I have a pilot that can be out at 4!" Woo hoo!

When I got outside, Matt was on the phone with someone from Crete. I let him know that we were back on for South Dakota! I sent Matt Link a message asking what time he'd be at the drop zone. I was bummed out when I got his reply, "Unfortunately, I can not make it. Erick should be out there around 4."

Just as I was reading the message, Matt Link called me. He wanted to explain where we'd be landing in South Dakota. I told him about the conversation with Fish and our stop at the welcome center.  He confirmed that's where we'd be landing. Awesome!
