Reaching AFF Category C - 2 is a big deal!  Once you've gotten to this level, you only have to jump with one instructor - which meant I could now come on weekdays!  I got in touch with Ned and scheduled my level C-2 jump on Wednesday, August 18th. One of the other students, Erin had just been cleared for self-supervision. All she needed was an instructor to babysit her on the plane - she would exit alone.  We traded a couple of emails and she told me she would come out too! Another fellow student, Nate, sent an email to me saying he was able to jump while he was in Chicago! Lucky Nate! We discussed our jumping plans for the coming week.

When I woke up that morning of the 18th, I checked the weather. It was partly cloudy! What's up with the weather? Why is it always cloudy? I couldn't decide what to do. I got ready to go, but started working on one of my writing projects. The phone rang at around 10:45 - it was Nate. He was on his way to Orange. He was sure that the weather would break, "Are you coming?"

He didn't have to ask me twice!  I turned off my computer and headed out the door.

As I got closer to Orange, the sky looked more cloudy. I called Nate, "How's it looking?" He said it was looking good at Orange. By the time I got to Orange, it was about 1:00 PM. Things were just getting started for the day. Unfortunately, there were a ton of tandems waiting.
