When we left Skydive Adventures, we weren't sure where to go.  We ended up at the Tasty Drive-In less than two miles away from the DZ.  This drive thru was "interesting" to say the very least. I think their primary business is ice cream which looked awesome, but we were there for "real" food. Since we were ordering hot items, we were instructed to park across from the drive thru window after we paid.  Another thing to note: they don't accept credit cards - cash only.

We were hoping to be in and out in a couple of minutes, but we were there for nearly 20 minutes before the clerk motioned for us to come over and get our food. Wanna know something funny?  I can't remember what I had to eat!  I know that Matt ordered a burger and we shared some tater tots that weren't really tater tots, They were more like those round hash browns that you can get a Chick-fil-A.

Once we were back on the highway, Matt tried to figure out where we could stay. With plans to get to the drop zone by 7:45, we wanted to be some place nearby. After some research, Matt decided it would be best if we stayed in Omaha, NE. Since our last night sleep was our best, we went with another Quality Inn & Suites.

With the exception of multiple conversations about our South Dakota experience, our drive was uneventful and we arrived at our exit just after 10 PM.  Before going to the hotel to check in, we filled up the tank and grabbed a bottle of wine from Bucky's. At 10:12, Matt checked into our room.

This Quality Inn & Suites was not as nice as the one in South Dakota. Our room was clean, but the hotel was in need of many cosmetic repairs. There was a fan in the hall set up so it would dry a wet spot on the floor. Of course, I immediately wondered how the wet spot got there. My overactive imagination came up with a number of possibilities - all somewhat yucky!

For the first time since Tuesday, we turned on the television and watched about 30 minutes of an Alaska wilderness show. We turned off the television at 11 and tried to get some sleep. My alarm was set for 6:30.

Hopefully, I'd be able to ignore all the irritating things happening around me...

The bright glowing light coming in from the top of the window not covered by curtains.

Matt getting up to use the bathroom because he was STILL having tummy troubles.

AND...The A/C turning on and off all night long. GRRRRR!!!!

As I tried to fall asleep, I kept thinking of one thing ~ WE GOT SOUTH DAKOTA!!!!

Note to everyone:  If I ever have a gazillion dollars, I will open a chain of hotels that have A/C units that continuously provide sound! Travelers need sleep!

We crossed the 2,000 mile mark!
