Last night, Matt and I stayed up a little late to watch the newest Super Man movie "Man of Steel" starting Henry Cavill.  It was a rather long, but we enjoyed it. Full of action and a little different story line than the original movie.  If you've got 2 1/2 hours to kill and you enjoy special effects, check it out.

This morning, we didn't have to be anywhere at a specific time - so we let the cats wake us in lieu of an alarm.  They started around 8, but I was determined to sleep a little longer.  I snuggled up and managed to stay in bed until almost 10:00!  Since Matt's been sick, it was good for him to get some extra rest. I picked up my telephone at 9:45 and checked out the weather - SUNNY all day! Yay!  There was only one thing on my mind!  Skydiving!

No time to waste with a shower, I brushed my teeth, said my goodbyes and was out of the house by 10:15.  I arrived at the airport around 11.  I had just missed the live entertainment - sketchy canopy rides.  The wicked wind dragged one of the AFF instructors over the taxi way damaging her rig. Should have called before I left the house!

A stormy Saturday often leads to a blustery Sunday.  I am certain there is a scientific reason for this, but it FEELS like Mother Nature is flexing her muscles showing us that she is in control of our fun. We are always at her mercy.  I'm surprised that drop zones don't invest in a shrine for her and offer up human sacrifices - like the annoying people that come to the drop zone! Win-Win!

I thought I'd spend my day walking on sunshine, but instead I kept my feet planted firmly on the soggy grass and muddy trail to the landing area.  There were some very stiff winds.  I called it a day after I watched a tandem that turned onto final approach, but instead of flying forward like normal, they went backward.  Luckily, they didn't get pushed into the fence or worse yet have to land in a tree.

I said my goodbyes and headed home.  The sky will be there next weekend.  Hopefully, Mother Nature will accept my post as an acknowledgement of her awesome power and take pity on us!
