TSC SignBy the time Rose showed up on Friday, I was ready to go.  After she transferred her things to my car, we hit the road. The drive was uneventful and we arrived at TSC around 1:00 PM.

Shortly after we got there, ShawnaRae greeted us. After months of exchanging Facebook messages and emails, it was exciting to finally meet her in person.

After a quick tour of the drop zone, the three of us went into ShawnaRae's trailer to work on the swag bags.

A few weeks prior to the event, one of the big sisters from Virginia Skydiving Center had given me some items to bring along (chapsticks, pull-up cords, and Chutting Star bags).  Of course, I also had SIS socks for everyone and Rose brought the items Erin had rounded up - there were a plenty of goodies for the girls. AWESOME!

When we were nearly done with the bags, one of the guys came in and showed us that the TSC sticker was actually a decal!  The process of removing the film was a little tricky because the bags weren't glossy.  Both Rose and I wanted to get in some jumps, so we'd have to revisit this later.

When we came out of the trailer, we discovered the sky was full of clouds and we were on a weather hold. Since neither of us had eaten, it seemed like a good time to grab a bite to eat. At first, ShawnaRae wasn't going to have lunch with us, but she decided to come along and drive us to Fiesta Mexicana. The food was yummy and the prices were reasonable. Since the restaurant wasn't too busy, we got back at the drop zone quickly, but we couldn't get on a load until later. While we were waiting to get in the air, we worked on the decals and finished the bags.

Rose at TriangleAfter we finished the bags, we did a Pink Mafia dirt dive. Merriah and I were very excited about having Rose as a delegate, but I needed to initiate her first! Just before 6:00 PM, we finally boarded the plane.

It was hot and the plane was climbing unbelieveably slow.  At around 8K, I asked what altitude they normally get and they said 13.5. At 11K, the door light came on. I wondered if the pilot gave up?

No worries!  It was plenty of altitude to pass out the Barbies.  We launched a three way round and ShawnaRae had her Barbie on the hill.  The jump was awesome and we all had sweet landings!

By the time we finished packing our rigs, it was after 7:00 PM.  The jump day was ending and it was time for us to figure out what we'd be doing for dinner. ShawnaRae told us that she and Greg would be going home for the night and Rose was welcome to stay in their trailer. Greg also offered to make a bed for me in their trailer too.  It was very thoughtful, but I planned to sleep in my van.  Even though I didn't need it, he made one up for me anyway. Either way, Greg said he'd leave the front door of the building open so I could come in and use the bathroom. Sweet!

When we asked ShawnaRae about dinner plans, it looked like Rose and I would be on our own.
