When I went to the student manifest window, Mike told me that it didn't look like the Otter would be going up. I started watching Gigi pack parachutes. After watching for a while, I asked if I could try.

What a job! In a matter of minutes I broke out in a sweat. I needed to change my clothes. I ditched the "court" clothes in exchange for play clothes. I learned how to reset the brakes, separate the lines, and how to flake out the sections of the parachute. Gigi emphasized the importance of making sure all the lines were in the center. I practiced this part over and over. Dennis watched me struggle for awhile and then he showed me how he packs. I tried his method, but found it even more difficult.

While I was packing, I met a man named Israel. He had recently earned his A-License. Israel from Israel. I can remember that! After two hours of practice, I managed to complete only these first few steps of the parachute packing process. Basically, I managed to organize the canopy. That's as far as I got before I had to leave.

Yet again, a trip to the DZ without jumping.
