Sarah and Rhonda at Meadow Peak When I woke up, it was only 6:02 AM.  I debated about going back to sleep, but it seemed like a better idea to just get moving. I'd rather show up early than be late. I woke Matt up at 6:30 and he got in the shower.

Since I was uncertain how much time we'd have later, I organized our suitcase so it was ready to be checked at the airport. Before we set out on the road, I also cleaned out the car. We stopped at McDonald's to grab drinks and yogurt parfaits and left Libby before 7:00 AM.

I made quick work of the drive and we arrived at Meadow Peak Skydiving just after 8:00 AM. This drop zone is in the middle of nowhere. We were driving along through a forest of trees and we ended up in a huge prairie. In comparison to the other places we have been on this trip, Meadow Peak Skydiving has the largest landing area.

Matt at Meadow PeakUpon entering manifest, I was surprised to see a familiar face - Rhonda K! In 2004, I met Rhonda when I was an AFF student at Skydive Orange. When I talked to her on the phone, I didn't realize who she was!

While we were waiting for the pilot to show up, we filled out waivers and Rhonda gave us a drop zone briefing. The DZO, Wayne, introduced himself and I passed along the greeting from Renee Ryder. Our visit with Wayne was brief because he was headed off to work.

Matt and I were worried about time. Rhonda told us the plane had been through it's pre-flight check so we'd be in the air as soon as the pilot arrived. We pre-paid for our jumps and took pictures in manifest. Rhonda gave us each a free t-shirt!

Chet MontanaAs soon as the pilot arrived, we put on our gear, After quick introductions, we boarded the plane.

On the climb to altitude, we got a great view of the lakes near the drop zone (This airplane ride was one of my favorite memories from our trip).

While I was looking at the breathtaking scenery, I reflected on our journey - four drop zones in three days. We were skydiving in Montana!

When it came time to exit, I waived goodbye to Chet. Under canopy, I did a slow 360. Wow!!! If it wasn't for the cold winters, I would love to live here! National Parks, National Forests, mountains and more - all in Montana! I am 100% certain we will visit again!

Montana

My landing was a high speed butt slide. Thank goodness for those new leg strap covers.

Sarah & ChetWe packed our rigs quickly and loaded th car.  I went back to the hangar to say goodbye and to thank the pilot for coming out early. As I was walking past a stack of chairs, I managed to catch my foot on one of them and went down hard on the concrete floor.

Talk about embarrassing! I didn't have time to think about the pain. A tandem student remarked that he watched me land safely from a skydive just to see me get hurt in the hangar.  One of my biggest problems when I am in a hurry - I am super clumsy!

It was 10:00 AM when I took the picture with Chet. Rhonda went with me to the car and we said our goodbyes.

Next stop...Seattle Airport (498 miles away). Hope we make it in time for our flight!
