I'm sitting at the Fresno airport waiting for our flight to board.  Looking back on the week, I am very happy with all of the things Sarah and I were able to accomplish.  I'm glad that we were willing to do a little driving to see things beyond the valley.  The sequoias were amazing and it's definitely worth going to Sequoia National Park (rather than just seeing the small grove inside of Yosemite).  I'd also recommend going a little further to Moro rock - just a few miles past General Sherman.  My favorite day of the trip was Saturday.  We drove past the valley and into the highlands of Yosemite all the way out to Lee Vining.  Check out the pictures for some amazing sights we found along the way.

While I didn't get to hike Half Dome because of my knee, I still feel like the trip was fulfilling.  Sarah and I made a number of smaller hikes such as the Four Mile Trail and Sentinel Dome.  Plus, we also hiked the hidden trail to the base of El Capitan.  There's no official trail for that and we used one that I assume is traveled by climbers.  Staring up the sheer side of that cliff is pretty wild and provides a perspective that most photos never show.  We also saw many climbers on El Capitan as well as other cliffs in the park.  I think that we did a number of things that most visitors never get to do and I think that make our honeymoon even more special.

You definitely need to check out the Photos section of this website and look at the Yosemite album.  We have a ton of pictures up there that could never do justice to seeing it in person.  Also, our wedding photographer has posted some pictures on her site:  melissaarlenaphotography.com.  So check them out!!!
