The restaurant, Galliano's Cucina, was less than 3 miles from Sea-Tac airport. After a quick glance at the menu, we ordered salads and a pizza. The waitress brought us water and some freshly baked bread. It was yummy and I was super hungry, but I didn't want to ruin my dinner by scarfing it all down.

While we were waiting for our food, we discussed our sleeping options. If we stayed in the area, we could start with Washington State. If we headed south to Oregon, we could make a circle and pick up Idaho.  I knew that both Skydive Oregon and Skydive Snohomish were open on Wednesdays (according to their websites). Just before we entered the restaurant, I reached out to them via Facebook to find out what time they would be starting. Their answers would influence our decision.

Our dinner was excellent.  If you are ever in the Seattle area, you should check out this restaurant! The down side - we ate entirely too much pizza and there was no room for birthday cake. Oh well, it would have to wait until another day. After we paid, I checked to see if anyone had replied to the Facebook messages.

Skydive Oregon was the first to respond and they would be open at noon. I was actually hoping to start with Skydive Snohomish because they were only 40 minutes from the airport, but there was no reply to my Facebook message. Decision made:  We set course for Skydive Oregon - roughly 200 miles from the restaurant.

Not far along our route, we saw the most amazing site. We turned a corner and drove up a hill and there was a gigantic mountain. Neither one of us were expecting to see a mountain! With the exception of the location of the drop zone, I had not done any research on Washington State. I had no idea there was a mountain so close to the airport.

Matt used his phone to determine it was Mt. Rainier - 14,411 feet tall! Awesome! We stopped the car so Matt could take some pictures.
