If we drove the entire 333 miles, it would be after midnight local time when we arrived at our destination.  Since my brain and body were still on EST, I thought it was a better idea to find some place closer to stop.

Both of us were hungry so Matt checked to see if there was a Chick-fil-a nearby. No such luck! We stopped in Bend, Oregon at the Wendy's drive thru. It would have been nice to sit down in a restaurant and talk about the day, but it was better to keep moving. While I was driving, I called a couple of friends to tell them about our adventures in Oregon.

Since the bulk of our drive was on US-20E, we had limited hotel options. I was happy when Matt found a place for us to stay in Burns, Oregon. It was only two hours from Bend. When we checked in to Americas Best Value Inn, the desk clerk offered to keep the pool open for us if we wanted to take a swim. It was nice of her to offer, but we just wanted to get showers and go to bed.

Our room was very clean and there were no bugs to be found. Yay! After a quick shower, I was ready to shut down. As I drifted off to sleep, I thought about our day. A missing airplane part sent us on a great adventure. We'd driven 568 miles so far. I wondered where we'd be tomorrow night.
