It was time for my debriefing. Lambert asked me what I remembered about the jump. Well, the exit was a little strange. I'm not sure exactly what happened. I did what I was supposed to do, but something didn't feel normal. I proceeded with my skydive. I had a little trouble with my practice touches. So I did an extra one. Then, I tried to relax. I repeated my tasks until it was time to pull. I waved off and pulled on time. Everything went well under canopy until I forgot to look at the tetrahedron. I entered my final approach downwind, received some confusing radio advice, and flared too early.

Lambert told me that he messed up the exit - mystery solved. He said it doesn't happen often, but his timing was off (and it was captured on video). He told me that I have a great arch. Another student came by for debriefing. Lambert instructed me to write in my logbook - summarize my comments and write a couple things that I want to work on during my next jump. I didn't know what to say.

When I was finished, Lambert reviewed my entry and Nick said that I should write in my logbook "I fall fast". I thought he was joking. I smiled, "We all fall fast." He wasn't kidding. Nick said I needed to write it in my logbook "I Fall Fast" so that other instructors would be prepared.

We watched the video together. The exit was comical. When we left the plane, Lambert didn't have my shoulder grip. He was sort of dangling around from my thigh. He twisted around and climbed up my leg. After I did my practice touches, they let go of me. On the video, it looks like I sank down about 10 feet. Shonda joined us, and I dropped down again.

The best part of the day - I got cleared for one instructor! I could jump during the week!  I called my son (and a half a dozen other people). "They let go of me Alec!" I couldn't wait to show him the video! Skydiving is so much fun!
