missouri cathy baitsFrom the way Robe described things, Freefall Express was right next to Skydive Missouri. We decided to follow our directions and figured we'd just call Freefall Express once we were closer. Matt looked along our route to see where we could stop and get some tea. He found an Arby's about 15 minutes from the drop zone.

Since neither one of us had much breakfast, we decided to eat an early lunch.  We didn't want to waste time stopping again in an hour.  Even though it was only 216 miles to our next drop zone, we needed to get there as quickly as possible.  After we finished with Missouri, we'd be tackling a long stretch of driving - 500 miles.

At noon, we stopped in Fredonia, Kansas to get gas.  When I calculated the mileage for this stretch of the trip, we averaged 26.49 miles per gallon!  Awesome!  It's much cheaper to drive in the flat states,  We looked inside to see if they had a Kansas state spoon, but we couldn't find one. Our eta at Skydive Missouri was just around 2 hours.

Missouri SignAs we drove further to the east, we noticed an increase in the amount of foilage.  Also,it seemed like there was more development.

We didn't stop again until we saw the sign for the drop zone rgith around 2:15 PM.  Instead of pulling into their parking lot, we drove a little further up the road and parked. Matt looked up the number for FreeFall Express.  What came next was disappointing!

They had recently moved! Ugh! When you are sitting in the car less than 1/4 mile away from a drop zone, it's very hard to find the motivation to drive somewhere else!  I wondered how far away they were.  Before Matt got a chance to ask, the guy told him they were closed for the day because the staff was in Arkansas (Hmmm...were they visiting Wolf?).

On the plus side, it made our decision easy. Skydive Missouri it is!
