I've spent the bulk of today working on my "About" page.  When I put my website up, I wrote a little something about myself, but I knew I would eventually re-write the page.  Last year, I was working on The Pink Mafia Sisters website and I had to write a paragraph about me.  It's actually much harder than it should be - finding the right words and being concise and interesting.

Working on the "About" page for this website was different because I could include whatever I wanted.  There is no page limit. Awesome!  I started writing.

I was born on June 30, 1966 or so I have been told.  Several times, I have searched the recesses of my brain for a memory of this occasion.  Fortunately, I draw a blank each time.  I imagine the process of being born is not a particularly pleasant experience.  I am convinced that our brains were designed so this memory cannot be stored. The summer was hot and my mother welcomed my birth.  Based on my size in utero, my mother and the doctor anticipated the birth of a boy.  My mother’s first child was a girl (born 1963) and my father was very excited about the prospect of having a son.  Unfortunately, I was a girl!

Hmmm...I am going to need to rethink this writing approach.  At this rate, I might finish my "About" page in a year or two! Does it matter when I was born? Do you need to know that I grew up on a farm?  My first marriage lasted 18 years?  Or that I have a BA in Accounting? Probably not.

It occurred to me that most people don't plan to spend hours reading an "About" page.  Since this is a skydiving website, the nutshell version might be a better approach.  I deleted that paragraph and started over.  I wrote, deleted, wrote some more, and deleted again.

In the end, I came up with what you can find on the ABOUT page.  Hope it's enough to keep you interested!
