In an effort to save a few dollars and to support my husband, I decided to pack for him. He was shooting video for a team. When I wasn't packing, I was writing. I sat outside the hangar and enjoyed the low humidity and mild weather. It was an absolutely perfect day.

I was outside talking with a friend and I saw Emma and Christie out of the corner of my eye. They were carrying grocery bags and scrambled to hide behind a car. AH HA! They had whipped cream and didn't want me to see them. Of course, I pretended not to notice and went inside the hangar. Getting pied today was inevitable - the only mystery would be when.

Staci's 300th

Over the course of the day, Matt did 7 jump the team. I packed six times for him then Staci showed up to do her 300th. It was an awesome 8 way with video (shot by Matt).

When we landed, my ears were really bothering me. My recent allergy attacks have been messing me up! Matt decided to do a fun jump with Dr. Liz.

While I was packing, Raven came over to talk to me. She offered to help carry some of my stuff to the car. How very thoughtful! Since Matt was on the plane, I figured it was safe to go outside. We put my gear in the car and went back to the hangar.

Big Mistake!  Four of my skydiving sisters were waiting to ambush me! In order from left to right, Leslie, Shelby, Emma & Allison.

Getting ready to pie Sarah

Oh boy...they got me good!

Pie in the face / hair etc.

As you can see, they had a great time carrying on the traditional 1,000th jump pie ritual. Thank you David Cherry for capturing the moment on film.

Fortunately, I had clean clothes and a towel in the car. After I got hosed down, I went inside for a shower. Sweet!

Meanwhile, Matt was wondering when I was going to get pied. Needless to say, he was a little bummed out he missed it and so was I, but it was still pretty awesome. Thank you Skydive Orange for another fun day!
