As I walked to the front door, the dog continued barking. Most of the door was glass and I could see human images through the shear curtains. After I knocked, a woman came to the door. I introduced myself as did she - Fonda. I explained our situation and asked for permission to land on her property.

It turns out that her property is located in between fields owned by another person - a gentleman named Jim. She was in the process of trying to purchase one of the fields from him and she said it would probably be okay to land there, but we shouldn't land in the other field without his permission. Fortunately, Jim spent a fair amount of time at his barn (with a green roof) located nearby on Borderland Road.

We thanked her and set out to talk to Jim. We drove down Borderland Road and pulled into his driveway. Ugh! His gate was closed. No worries! At least we knew where he lived. We could stop by in the morning on our way to the drop zone. Hopefully, he'll be home.

As we drove back to Westside, we took another look at the field next to Borderland Road. It was a nice size and had very few obstacles. It would be a great place to land. Fingers crossed that Jim says yes tomorrow!
