Spending 11 hours in the car on Saturday was exhausting. I was so happy when I saw our ETA to get home. Our driving time was just over 8 hours! For the most part, the drive went smoothly.

Just after we left the drop zone, we stopped at a TA Travel Center to look for a spoon and a key chain. I found a spoon, but had no luck finding a Rhode Island key chain.  Oh well...

We grabbed lunch from Wendy's in Warwick, RI and ended up getting dinner from Jimmy Johns in Newark, DE and ate in the car while I was driving. I really  just wanted to keep the car moving because I didn't want to get home late.

With the exception of a few minor delays, we were making good progress until we got to 95 South. Matt and I were talking so I turned off Waze. Huge mistake!

We got stuck in construction traffic and added an extra hour to our driving time. It was nearly 11 when we got home - another taxing and stressful driving day.

For such a small state, Rhode Island was really a pain in the butt! The drive up was crappy, the hotel was crappy, and the drive home was crappy too. Fortunately, our experience at Boston Skydive Center was awesome!

After months of worrying about how we'd get Rhode Island, we could let it go. It was such a relief for both of us! We didn't have to rent a plane or plan a boogie. All we had to do was send an email and explain our situation. I feel so fortunate that Dean was willing to work with us.

Having seen the drop zone in person, I had a better understanding of why they don't normally allow fun jumpers. If one of us had a cutaway, we could have landed in a tree!

I was completely exhausted when I crawled into bed. No more brainstorming about Rhode Island. No more driving. Just soft clean sheets and my favorite pillow. My busy brain shut down and I drifted off to sleep.
