Thank goodness the drive to Hapuna Beach (12.3 miles) went quickly! The Nissan Versa Hatchback wasn't designed for five passengers. With that said, the driver's seat was comfortable and I would definitely consider it if I wanted a small car.

The drive from the beach to Waimea was a different story.  It was less than 15 miles, but it took over 30 minutes! At least, I had my mom to keep me company.

We elected to go to the Foodland. I quickly filled the first cart with Gatorade, juice, soda, 2 cases of water, 3 beach towels, 2 pairs of reef walkers, 2 hats, and a couple small souvenirs - $134.45. Since there was no room for food, I checked out and loaded the car.

Round 2 started in the produce section. To the left is the 4/13-4/19 flyer from Waimea Foodland. These are the "sale" prices. Check out the grapes - $3.79 per lb. This week, they are $.99 per lb with a coupon at Martins in Richmond. Bell peppers are $1.99 per lb here and $4.99 a lb in Waimea.

While we were there, strawberries were on sale for $6.99 a lb (regular price $8.99). Broccoli crowns were 3.99 per lb, and honey dew melon was $2.99 a lb instead of $2.99 EACH. On the plus side, wine was nearly the same price!  Yay!

We had such a hard time figuring out what to buy! We got an assortment - stuff for sandwiches, soup, frozen pizzas, peanut butter & jelly.  Our one major splurge was ground beef for spaghetti. Even though they were pricey, we also grabbed some pop-tarts & cookies.

Agonizing over prices took a long time - I felt bad for the crew back at the beach! The second cart came to over $225 and we didn't even have very many things. The only vegetable - one bag of edamame.

When we showed up at Hapuna Beach, they were ready and waiting for us. Matt had gotten a blister from his pool shoes and burned his feet on the hot sand, dad had scrapes from being taken out by waves, and Price was sunburned because he claimed he didn't need sunblock.

Back at the condo, there were quick showers while I made dinner - frozen pizzas for some and grilled sandwiches for others. After dinner, Matt and I went back to the Foodlion to get a few things. This time, we took Waikoloa Road to HI-190 and along the way we saw wild donkeys! My dad had been looking for them for three days and had not found them.

When we got to the store, we exchanged the reef walkers for some flip flops. We also go more sunblock and some grapes. 2.95 lbs of seedless green grapes cost $14.72, but they were so yummy!

It was only 6:30 when we got back to the condo, but we were tired. We spent some time trying to figure out the best day to go over to Oahu to skydive. The weather looked really good for Thursday so I bought tickets on Hawaiian Airlines.  We'd be leaving on Wednesday at 3:15 and coming back the following day.

Matt went to bed around 8:00 PM and I had a glass of wine and talked to my dad. I organized the backpacks for our SeaQuest Deluxe Morning Adventure - hats, towels, sunblock, flip flops and pool shoes. We needed to check in by 7:45 AM - so we agreed to be up and ready to leave the condo by 6:30. I couldn't wait!

Before I went to bed, I looked for cars at the airport in Honolulu. We'd only need a car for one day - so we didn't need anything fancy. I was thrilled when I managed to get a car for $18.17 - INCLUDING EVERYTHING! Wow! I love the internet! Score!
